Mercedes-Benz has officially announced the successor to Dr. Wilfried Aulbur, the current MD and CEO at M-B India. The news of the affable gentleman parting ways with the Daimler group has been around for some time now. Mr Peter T Honegg will succeed Dr. Wilfried Aulbur as the new MD & CEO of Mercedes-Benz India.

Mr Honegg has been with Daimler AG since 1976 and is presently the President & CEO of Mercedes-Benz Malaysia. Mr. Honegg has rich experience of managing high growth markets and is expected to take upon his new role in first quarter 2011.
Mercedes-Benz is the No.1 premium luxury car maker in the country with impeccable brand value in the India market. Dr Aulbur has been with the brand for years handling the company’s passenger car and commercial vehicle business. It won’t be an easy task for a new person to replace him, especially with the recent onslaught of compatriot carmakers such as BMW and Audi and other premium carmakers such as Jaguar and Volvo.
