Kicking off from 4th January, the 2015 chapter of the Dakar Rally will see motorcyclists, quad bikers, and truckers traverse 9000 Kms of challenging South American terrain, which will include Bolivia, Argentina and Chile. It will also mark the third participation of the official Renault Duster team, who’ll be fielding two all-new participating cars with engines sourced from the Renault-Nissan Alliance.
The teams comprise of Emiliano Spataro and Benjamín Lozada as well as José García and Mauricio Malano. They prepared for the challenging Dakar by fighting in three rounds of the Argentinian Rally CrossCountry Championship, and took one win and three runner-up positions. Renault Sport Technologies is actively supporting the team in bringing all its expertise and latest innovations in to order to offer the two Renault Dusters the best assets to finish in the Top 10.
Back to the prepped up Dusters, they’ll be more advanced and powerful than ever, with both the cars sporting V8 engines from the Renault Nissan Alliance that generate 380bhp! No more technical information has been provided yet, but one can expect the usual high-endurance, rallying bits – roll cage, upgraded suspension, brakes, cooling, underbody protection, and a stiffened chassis.
