Maruti Suzuki Wagon R AMT spotted ahead of Diwali launch!

Maruti Suzuki’s best selling Wagon R and its sportier brother Stingray will roll out with Automatic Manual Transmission onboard this festive season! Two new additions to Maruti Suzuki’s AMT family.

The Wagon-R AMT has already hit the dealership stockyards and a Vxi variant was spotted, suggesting an official appearance soon round the corner, and is expected to be accompanied by an AMT equipped Maruti Suzuki Stingray.

The Maruti Suzuki Celerio was the first to be offered with this convenient AMT box, following which the Alto K10. Maruti calls this one the ‘Auto Gear Shift’ (AGS) technology. The car maker established a huge market by introducing AMT into the entry level segment. The Wagon-R AMT will be powered by a 998cc K10B petrol motor generating 68PS mated to a Magneti Marelli sourced 5-speed automatic manual transmission, identical to the one under the hood of the Celerio. The variants of both, Wagon-R and Stingray, have an ‘Auto Gear shift ’ badge on their bootlids.

The Wagon R AMT has already reached the dealerships in preparation to be sold to the customers during the festival season.Wagon R AMT and Stingray AMT are expected to be priced Rs.30,000 to Rs.35,000 over the standard models and will be offered in VXi variants initially.
