Maruti Suzuki SX4 Facelift to look exactly like China-spec model

We recently reported in detail about the upcoming Maruti Suzuki SX4. The Maruti Suzuki SX4 facelift could be launched as soon as in January 2013 and the car would come with a beefier front bumper and a new front grille. The spy pics are enough evidence of the fact that MSIL plans to introduce the same facelift that is on sale in Chinese market.

Maruti Suzuki has never really managed to take the large upper C segment sedan car market by storm. At the start of the new millennium, came the Baleno which despite being a great all rounder, turned out to be a dud. The Baleno was later replaced by the SX4. The Maruti Suzuki SX4, which is a sedan derivative of the SX4 hatchback sold in many international markets, did reasonably well until the time the Honda played a great gate crasher to MSIL’s party and launched the all new Honda City.

Some time back, Maruti launched the diesel variant of the SX4 by plonking in the 1.3 Litre Multijet. However, the response to the new variant can be best described as to be lukewarm.

Suzuki is already working on the next gen SX4 and the car is sure to come to our market. However, recently it emerged that MSIL plans to give the low selling car another lease of life before replacing it in a few years.

We are still unsure if the minor nose job would make the SX4 a hot favourite of the car buying lot. What do you say?
