It has emerged that Maruti Suzuki India Ltd, India’s largest selling car maker, has planned to launch the Maruti Suzuki Swift and Swift Dzire facelift models later this year. It may be noted that Suzuk Swift facelift is already on sale in several markets abroad and hence, MSIL shouldn’t face any hurdles bringing these updates to our shores. However, unlike what was being said by many publications earlier, neither the Maruti Suzuki Swift facelift nor the Dzire fcelift was showcased at the recently concluded Auto Expo 2014.

The talking point of the updated Swift are the new DRLs that are housed in the front bumper. These DRLs look strikingly similar in shape to the ones on the Hyundai i20 facelift! Other changes in the exterior styling include a new set of alloys, while the non-alloy wheels version get new design wheel caps.  UK spec Swift also got a new color option with the advent of the 2013 Suzuki Swift facelift. This new color, Boost Blue (Metallic), might too make it to India. On the inside, the car gets an upholstery change, Auto Up feature for driver side Power Window, Power folding ORVMs and Auto headlamps.

Other than this, the Swift facelift also gets a Push Button start, cruise control and Bluetooth connectivity. Quite obviously, the Dzire facelift will get all the updates that will be found on the Swift and updated models of the Swift duo are expected to be launched simultaneously.

Mechanically, both the cars are expected to remain unchanged, which means that the 1.2 litre, four pot, normally aspirated K12B petrol engine and the 1.3 litre, four pot, turbocharged, Fiat sourced mill will continue to do duty.

Stay tuned to Motoroids for more updates on the Maruti Suzuki Swift and Swift Dzire facelift.
