Maruti Suzuki launched a special edition of the S-Cross christened the S-Cross “Premia” in an effort to push sales of the cross over which has performed less than expected. The special edition Premia will be available only in the Delta DDiS 200 variant,the second variant in its range of models. Available exclusively at NEXA outlets for a limited period, the Premia will be priced at Rs. 8.99 lakh, Ex-Showroom.
The S-Cross Premia edition will come equipped with alloy wheels, a rear parking assist with camera, fog lamps, dual airbags, ABS and a 5 inch (12.7 cm) Garmin navigation system with colour display. The Delta DDiS variant that costs Rs. 9.15 lakhs, Ex-Showroom is Rs. 16,000 higher than the Premia. This special edition Premia will minimize the difference in the amount of features that are available on higher trims while retaining the low price tag.
Mechanically the S-Cross remains the same and is powered by the 1.3 litre diesel engine sourced from Fiat that turns out 90 PS of peak power and 200 Nm of peak torque. The engine is paired to a 5 speed transmission which sends power to the front wheels. For those of you looking at a more power there is a 1.6 litre diesel engine with a maximum power output of 120 PS and a maximum torque of 320 Nm. This engine is mated to a six speed transmission.
