Maruti Suzuki increases prices of its models in India

It seems to have more to do with the  20% dip that the company’s profits took last month. In a press release issued to the media, MSIL has said that it would increase the prices of some of its car models with immediate effect. The price increase has been attributed to ‘sharp increase in the input costs’. The company has decided to pass on part of this cost impact to customers.

The approximate price revision on various models (Ex Showroom, Delhi) ranges between Rs 2,000/- and Rs 7,500/-.The price increase ranges between 1 per cent and 1.5 per cent across models. There is no change in the prices of Alto  though, the company’s largest selling model – we expect the prices of this model to go up when the refurbished Alto, along with the Alto K10 is presented to the public later this month.
