If reports are to be believed, Maruti Suzuki plans to introduce Harman Kardon audio systems in its products from next year. With the timeline being suggested as 2017, it is likely that the first model to receive the U.S. based audio equipment company’s product will be the upcoming Ignis.

Currently, the global spec Ignis comes with a Harman Kardon Audio system. The U.S. based audio equipment company already supplies its infotainment systems to Tata Motors. Models such as the Bolt, Zest and more recently, the Tiago feature Harman Kardon’s audio systems.

If the report turns out to be true, a number of vehicles from Maruti Suzuki’s stable will come equipped with a Harman Kardon, probably only in the top-end variants. Products such as the S-Cross, Baleno, Vitara Brezza, Ciaz and the likes could feature the audio system while products such as the Alto Wagon-R and the Celerio are likely to be given a miss. Once confirmed, the audio equipment company will provide their products to Maruti Suzuki from their manufacturing plant in Pune, Maharashtra.
