As we said earlier, the Ciaz will be a good car for the chauffeur driven, making it an idea choice for many in India and China, two key markets for this upcoming model. The Ciaz will boast of plenty of rear legroom, which will be a result of the car’s considerably long wheelbase. At 4545 mm long, the car definitely holds an advantage over the current gen Honda City. The Ciaz will boast of a rigid mounting of the suspension components, which has enabled the usage of softer springs for a comfier ride. Hisanori Matsushima, chief designer of the Ciaz concept, said, “the back seat will have ample space to relax and Suzuki wants customers to enjoy its large internal size”.

In Indian market, the Ciaz petrol variant will be powered by a 1.5-litre DOHC 4-cylinder petrol engine that will come mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. The Indian  car market is also sure to get a common rail diesel engine.

Maruti Ciaz launch in India is expected to take place in the later half of next year. The Ciaz will replace the Maruti Suzuki SX4 sedan, which hasn’t exactly been a success story for MSIL. It will now be interesting to see if the Ciaz would change the fate of MSIL in upper C segment of Indian car market.

Stay tuned folks!
