Basically, the new Suzuki Alivio is the next stage of the concept car that was previewed as the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz at the Auto Expo 2014 earlier this year. (Auto Expo 2014: Exhaustive Coverage – Images, Details and Reports

Not much is currently known about the Alivio but the car maker has stated that their latest concept model is powered by a a 1.5-litre DOHC 4-cylinder petrol engine that comes mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.  The Alivio measures 4,545mm in length, 1,730mm in width and 1,475mm in height.

As per Suzuki, the new Alivio concept’s design is based on a “Sporty and Noble” theme. The Ciaz, nay, the Alivio will later spawn a production version, which has been codenamed as the YL1, with the new model coming our way towards the later half of next year. This upcoming sedan will replace the Maruti Suzuki SX4 sedan, which isn’t exactly setting the sales charts on fire in our country. Unlike the SX4 sedan, which has been derived from the crossover variant that is on sale abroad, the Alivio sedan won’t have any quirkiness to its design.
