Mahindra Reva e2o Premium Variant Launched

The new variant of Reva e2o was launched in Ahmedabad. It will come at an on-road price of INR 5.72 lakhs. The features on the new variant will include :

  1. An infotainment system
  2. A driver information system
  3. A reverse parking camera and assist
  4. Smartphone sync ability to display car’s battery levels and nearby charging stations

To boost sales of the Reva e2o, Mahindra has an innovative scheme called ” Goodbye Fuel, Hello Electric! “. Under this scheme, the initial purchase costs and the maintenance costs are separated. The ownership and maintenance responsibility of the battery lies with Mahindra Electric. The customer will only have to pay for the distance that he will drive. For example, the premium variant will cost around 5.7 lakhs INR in Delhi. Add to it a monthly energy fee of 2,999 INR, and the customer will be able to drive the car for 50,000 kms over a period of five years.

The company is also working on another front to give a nudge to the Reva e2o’s sales. It has already put up around 300 charging stations in cities like Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai and Pune. In the current year, they have plans to add a hundred more charging stations in the country.

The normal variant of the Mahindra Reva e2o comes with a range of about 80 kilometers. It comes with a lower price tag of 4.8 lakhs INR, and a lower monthly energy fee of 2,599 INR. Mahindra Electric is also working on two other electric vehicles. One of them, the electric Maxximo minivan was showcased at he Delhi Auto Expo. The other one is the electric version of the Verito sedan. These two vehicles might be launched in India next year.
