Made in India FUSO Trucks launched in Trinidad and Tobago

Daimler India Commercial Vehicles Pvt. Ltd. (DICV), along with Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation, Japan (MFTBC), a Daimler Company, launched its DICV-made trucks in Trinidad and Tobago, making it the 12th market since the start of export in May 2013. Under the new Asia Business Model, the Trinidad and Tobago market is the first market in South America. The trucks will be sold through the exclusive dealer “Diamond Motors” an authorized local distributor in Trinidad and Tobago. These trucks are already present in the markets of Kenya, Sri Lanka, Zambia and Tanzania with more markets to follow in the region.

The FUSO truck range manufactured at DICV‘s Oragadam plant comprise five models spanning Heavy-duty (25 – 49 tonnes referred to as ‘FJ’, ‘FO’ & ‘FZ’) and Medium-duty (9 – 16 tonnes referred to as ‘FA’ & ‘FI’). Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Erich Nesselhauf, Managing Director and CEO of Daimler India Commercial Vehicles said, “To start exporting to Trinidad and Tobago reflects once again: We are well on track with our export business. The success of DICV built trucks across markets shows our proficiency in manufacturing trucks in India, which are customized to meet the diverse industry requirements.”
