Launched in October last year, the Renault Kwid turned out to be a big success for the French automobile manufacturer. Now, Renault India has launched the Kwid 1.0-L in the country for a price tag of INR 3.82 lakh (Ex-Showroom, Delhi). According to the company, today’s launch is not just for the Kwid 1.0-L but also for the world debut of their 1.0-litre engine. The new Kwid 1.0-L has been launched at a premium of Rs.22,000 over the standard model.

Powering the model is a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine that is tuned to produce a maximum power output of 68 PS @5500 RPM and maximum torque of 91Nm @ 4250 RPM. In comparison, the 0.8-litre engine produces 54 PS of power and 72 Nm of torque. As for fuel efficiency, the new 1.0-litre engine is claimed to deliver an ARAI-certified 23.01 km/l, as compared to 25.17 km/l delivered by the 0.8-litre engine.
On the outside, the 1.0 litre engine equipped Kwid can be differentiated from the standard model with features such as contrasting ORVMs and decals on the doors. Moving on to the interiors, the model will come equipped with all the bells and whistles such as air-conditioning, front power windows, electric power steering, the 7-inch touchscreen equipped MediaNAV infotainment system and a fully digital instrument cluster with gear shift indicator. All the aforementioned features will be standard as the Kwid 1.0 litre will be available only in the top end RXT trim.
