Jeep India has launched the Compass with prices staring at INR 14.95 lakh for the petrol Sport trim. The top-end diesel Limited (O) trim has been launched with a price tag of INR 20.65 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom, New- Delhi).

The Jeep Compass launch event begins
Jeep is all set to officially launch the Compass compact SUV in India today. The launch event is just about to begin in Mumbai and before we give you live updates about the prices, let us tell you a bit about the Compass in detail. Don’t forget to keep hitting that refresh button for live updates in a while.
Jeep India began testing the Compass compact SUV back in November last year following which the model was officially unveiled on April 12, 2017. Jeep shared quite a few details of the Compass during the unveiling such as the vehicle’s specifications, engine options, safety features, etc. In June 2017, Jeep India began production of the Compass at the company’s Ranjangaon facility near Pune. What followed a few days later were a series of videos where Bollywood actor Milind Soman walked us through the production line of the Compass, sharing the finer details of what goes into the production of this highly anticipated compact SUV. Coming to the engine options, the Jeep Compass will be available with two powertrains: a 1.4-litre Multi-Air petrol engine and a 2.0-litre diesel engine. The petrol motor will be capable of producing 160+ hp and 250 Nm of torque while the diesel motor will produce 170+ hp and 350 Nm of torque. Transmission options will include a six speed manual transmission as standard while a seven speed DCT automatic transmission will be offered later during the product’s life-cycle.
The Jeep Compass will be offered in three variants: Sport, Longitude and Limited. The model will come equipped with features such as a seven inch touchscreen infotainment system, Select Terrain Traction Management System, electric parking brake, capless fuel fill and 60:40 split rear seats. Safety features on Jeep’s compact SUV will include dual airbags, ABS, EBD, HSA, PBA, ESC and disc brakes on all four corners.
