Stuttgart based German premium car maker Mercedes Benz have showcased the new Mercedes S63 AMG Coupe at the ongoing 2014 New York International Auto Show.

The new Mercedes S63 AMG coupe is based on the S Class coupe that made its debut at the Geneva Motor Show last month.While the recently revealed S Class coupe is provided by a 4.7-liter V8 engine that has a max power of 455 hp and peak torque of 700 Nm, the S63 coupe is powered by a twin-turbo 5.5-liter V8 engine from AMG. This engine has a max power of 585 hp and peak torque of 900 Nm. All this power is sent to rear wheels via AMG SpeedShift 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Also available is an AWD model. The RWD variant can hit 100 kmph from standstill in just 4.2 seconds, while the AWD model does the same sprint in just 3.9 seconds. Top whack is electronically limited to 250 kmph.
In the Mercedes line up of vehicles, the new S63 coupe replaces the CL63 AMG, which is based on the last gen S Class. The new S63 AMG Coupe is a full 65 kgs lighter than the model it replaces. And it is considerably more powerful too!
