The KTM 390 Duke refuses to go out of news! You would remember that we recently posted a video that gave us a hint of the India bound KTM 390 Duke’s performance. The video showed the bike hitting a speedo indicated 100kmph in less than six seconds and 130kmph in around 10 seconds. Now, it has emerged that the bike has a speedo indicated top speed of 171 kmph!!
The KTM 390 Duke is known to have a well sorted out handling package and together with a peak power of 44 bhp from its 375cc motor, the new bike promises to be quite a success. It is also being said that the bike has a good fuel economy figure that should be a satisfactory to those who ask ‘kitna deti hai?’
The KTM 390 Duke test mules that were recently spotted testing on Indian roads were seen wearing Metzeler tyres. Metzeler is basically a premium brand of Pirelli and is known to be among the best tyre makers for two wheelers. However, we expect substitutes from MRF to keep a check on the costs of the production spec bike. Speaking of the price, the upcoming KTM 390 Duke might have a sticker price of around INR 2.2 lakhs.
It is being said that Bajaj-KTM has already commenced the production of the new KTM 390 Duke in India and the not-high-price-tag is courtesy heavy localization for the production of the India spec bike.

I hope the seat height is reduced, as 810mm for the average indian biker height is too tall. I hope they reduce it to as low as 770-780cm, comparable to the DUcati Monster 795.
