Kawasaki to introduce an all new small displacement motorcycle by year-end

Kawasaki will soon be extending its product line-up with the launch of an all new, small displacement motorcycle, scheduled for a launch in December 2015. The official invite from the Japanese two-wheeler maker does not reveal many details but states that “it will be an all new small-capacity machine”, thus eliminating any possibilities of the upcoming motorcycle being an updated variant of the Ninja 300.

Previous reports indicated that a smaller displacement will most probably be a quarter-litre variant of the Kawasaki Versys. There is no official confirmation about any such motorcycle yet. It is suspected that the quarter-litre engine on the Versys 250 will be the same two-cylinder unit that propels the Kawasaki’s Ninja 250R and the Z250. If that stands correct, one can expect the power output figures to hover around the 32-33PS mark. The report from the Indonesian website also suggested that the Versys 250 will share its Diamond frame with the Z250.

Besides the launch date, there is no official confirmation from Kawasaki about the upcoming smaller-capacity motorcycle. The launch is scheduled on December 11-12 in Spain. We would be following all the story to bring to you all the updates about this upcoming Kawasaki motorcycle.
