Jeep fans have a reason to rejoice as the company has revealed the launch date of its upcoming compact SUV, the Compass. The Jeep Compass will be launched in India on July 31, 2017, more than two months after the India-spec model was officially unveiled.
Following its unveiling at the company’s Ranjangaon facility near Pune, Jeep had begun accepting bookings for the Compass on June 19. Customers could book their Compass against an amount of INR 50,000 through the official website or via the company’s official dealerships. The Ranjangaon facility would also be the mother plant for the production of all Right Hand Drive (RHD) units of the Compass, from where it would be exported to regions such as Japan and U.K.

The Jeep Compass will be available in three trim levels: Sport, Longitude and Limited. A few highlights of the feature list of the Compass will include a 7 inch touchscreen infotainment system, electric parking brake, 60:40 rear split seats, capless fuel fill and a Select Terrain Traction Management System. Safety features available as standard on the model will include ABS, EBD, HSA, PBA, ESC, dual airbags and disc brakes on all four corners.
Engine options on the upcoming Jeep Compass compact SUV will include a 1.4-litre Multi-Air petrol engine and a 2.0-litre diesel engine. The petrol unit will be capable of producing 160+ hp and 250 Nm of torque while the diesel unit will be tuned to produce 170+ hp and 350 Nm of torque.
