Is this how the Datsun Go MPV would look like?

We reported in considerable detail when Japanese auto giant Nissan resurrected the Datsun brand of cars. Datsun has come back to life after 32 years and will be now seen playing the role of a budget brand of the Nissan Group. This means that the upcoming Datsun brand of cars will be seen catering to the budget end segments of various car markets around the globe and these cars would be instrumental in bringing volumes to Nissan.

The Datsun Go, which will be the first car from the resurrected Datsun, is a hatchback based on the old Micra platform and would be seen playing second fiddle to the recently launched Micra Active in Indian car market. While the Datsun Go will be followed by the Datsun I2, it is being said that the Go might spawn various body variants in near future. Recently, we posted speculative renderings of two such possible body variants- the 3 door hatchback and a compact sedan. Today, what we have here are speculative renderings of a Datsun Go MPV.

The Datsun Go MPV could be a genuine seven seater and would probably be a cheaper alternative to the high selling Maruti Ertiga. We believe that the Go MPV would borrow engine options from the India spec Micra and this means that the car would get the same 1.2-liter 3-cylinder motor that does duty on the recently refreshed hatchback. The MPV would also get the 1.5-liter four-cylinder K9K diesel engine that has won plenty of rave reviews for its reliability and efficiency.

Not much is known about the Go based MPV but safely expect us to update you with more details as soon as we manage to dig out some info regarding the upcoming body variant.
