The upcoming Hyundai Xcent compact sedan in essence, is a ‘booted’ variant of the Grand i10,which in turn is the India-spec latest gen i10. Basically, the upcoming model will be to the new gen i10 what the Dzire is to the Swift and the Amaze is to the Brio. The new Xcent compact sedan measures less than 4 metres in length and hence, benefits from excise duty cuts being given by Indian Government. Hence, all this should translate into an ultra competitive price-tag.
Save for the rear section, the Xcent’s exterior design is very similar to that of the hatchback sibling and the two cars share many body panels. On the inside too, the car looks very similar to the Grand i10.

Under the hood, the Xcent gets the same engines that power the Grand i10. Hence, powering the car is a 1.2-liter Kappa2 four cylinder petrol engine and a 1.1-liter U2 three cylinder diesel motor. Out of these two, the petrol engine, along with a five speed manual gearbox, will also be offered with an automatic transmission.
