Hyundai Rolls Out The First Venue At Its Chennai Plant

Hyundai has finally started the production of the Venue ahead of its launch later this month. Today, India’s second-largest car manufacturer has rolled off the first Venue from its State-of-the-art assembly line at the company’s Sriperumbudur manufacturing facility in Chennai. The Hyundai Venue was unveiled in April and will be launched on the 21st of May in the Indian market. India could be the first market to get the Hyundai Venue, as it will soon be going on sale in the United States too.

The first Venue to roll off the Assembly line gets the Lava Orange paint scheme, which could be an exclusive new colour for the Venue in Hyundai’s lineup. The other colours available are Star Dust, Fiery Red, Polar White, Typhoon Silver, Deep Forest, Lava Orange and Denim Blue. Denim Blue, Lava Orange and Polar White will also be available in dual-tone options.

Hyundai opened the bookings for the Venue, both at dealer level and online for a booking amount of INR 21,000. The popular compact SUV got around 2000 bookings on the first day itself, and the bookings continue to go on. As the Venue is India’s first connected car, Hyundai will provide an inbuilt eSIM that will be used to fulfil many data related functions like maps, emergency response, finding destinations and improving connectivity with your loved ones.

The Venue will be offered in six variants: E, S, SX, SX(Dual-tone), SX(O) and SX+. The car will also get a total of 4 drivetrain options, a 1.2-litre petrol engine producing 81 HP and 114 Nm of torque paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox, a 1-litre petrol engine producing 120 HP and 172 Nm of torque paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 7-speed automatic gearbox and finally a 1.4-litre diesel engine producing 90 HP and 220 Nm of torque paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox.

The Venue is expected to be priced between Rs 8 – 12 Lakhs, the Venue will be competing against the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon, Ford Ecosport, Honda WR-V and the latest Mahindra XUV300.
