Hyundai is gradually revealing more details of its upcoming Bayon SUV ahead of its official Indian market debut. Following the initial release of design sketches and a teaser highlighting the front H-Edge lighting signature, the automaker has rolled out new teaser videos focusing on the vehicle’s rear styling and alloy wheels.
The latest clips offer a clearer look at the intricate LED taillight patterns and the sharp design of the geometric alloy wheels. Slotted between the Venue and the Creta in Hyundai’s domestic lineup, the Bayon is highly anticipated to launch during the upcoming festive season
New alloy wheel design
One of the latest teaser videos shows the Bayon’s alloy wheel. It gets a sharp geometric pattern with machined silver sections and black areas. The design uses five angular sections around the Hyundai logo.
The wheel shown in the teaser is paired with 215/55 R17 tyres. The large black wheel-arch cladding can also be seen around it.

The cladding also extends towards the lower part of the body. Hyundai has given the SUV a more crossover-like side profile, with flared wheel arches and roof rails.
Rear lighting shown
The other teaser gives a clearer view of the Bayon’s rear lighting. The tail lamps have a slim shape and follow the same horizontal and vertical design theme seen in the front lighting.
The red LED elements stretch towards the outer corners and then move vertically. A black strip runs across the tailgate between the lamp units. It gives the rear a wider appearance, although it is not clear if the complete strip will light up.
The actual lighting elements sit closer to the rear bumper. The teaser also shows the rear wiper and the blacked-out C-pillar.
What we know about the Bayon
The Bayon will be positioned above the Venue and below the Creta. It is expected to measure more than four metres in length. Hyundai is using its Art of Steel design language for the India-spec SUV.
The cabin is expected to get a layered dashboard with dual screens and a three-spoke steering wheel. Other expected features include:

- Automatic climate control
- Electrically adjustable front seats
- Ventilated seats
- Wireless phone charger
- Leatherette upholstery
- Level 2 ADAS
- 360-degree camera
- Paddle shifters
Petrol and CNG options
Hyundai is expected to use a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine for the Bayon. It is likely to be available with a manual gearbox and an IVT automatic.
A factory-fitted CNG version is also expected. The CNG tank is likely to be placed under the body, allowing Hyundai to offer the fuel option without taking up much boot space.
The Bayon is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 9 lakh to Rs 14 lakh, ex-showroom. More details about its variants, engine output and exact launch date will be announced later.
