Hyundai Adds INR One Crore To The Odisha Chief Minister’s Public Relief Fund

In the wake of what has been a devastating cyclone, Hyundai Motor India Limited has responded by handing over a Cheque of Rs. 1 Crore to the Odisha Chief Minister’s  Relief Fund (CMRF). Mr Stephen Sudhakar J Sr. Vice President Administration, along with senior officials from the company and dealer principals of Utkal Hyundai & Aditya Hyundai, met the Honourable Chief Minister, Shri Naveen Patnaik, to hand over the cheque. HMIL is the first automobile company to contribute to the fund. Additionally, along with its dealers, HMIL is partnering multiple local NGO’s in their relief work, by extending monetary and material help, to restore normalcy in the state.

Earlier, HMIL has contributed to the CM’s Relief Fund of Tamil Nadu in 2015 during the floods & in 2018 during cyclone Gaja and to the CM’s Relief Fund of Kerala in 2018, during the floods. Hyundai has earlier created Relief Task Force to enhance the scope of activities and services for vehicle owners affected by the Fani Cyclone in Odisha and West Bengal statesHyundai has stationed dedicated emergency road service team to support the Fani Cyclone affected customer’s vehicles along with 26 flatbed trucks and 21 Towing Trucks. The corporate sector in India, especially big-ticket manufacturers, have displayed great spirit in the past too when the country had faced similar catastrophes.

On the product front, Hyundai is gearing up to launch India,s first connected car, the Venue. A compact SUV, it will be launched on the 21st of May 2019 to compete against established players like the Ford Ecosport, the Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza and the Mahindra XUV300. Armed with three engine choices, tonnes of features and a dual-clutch automatic gearbox, the Venue will present itself as a loaded competitor when it goes on sale next week. A lot will depend on how the Venue is priced, vis-a-vis its competition. However, Hyundai is known to play its cards right and is expected to launch the car at a tempting price point.
