Honda Cars India (HCIL) today announced the lineup of its production and concept-models to be exhibited at the Auto Expo 2016 that will be held at the India Expo Mart, Greater Noida.
The Crossover Utility Vehicle Honda BR-V will make its India Premiere at the motor show. Also on display will be the latest generation of premium sedan Honda Accord. The BR-V and Accord together would be the key models slated for launch in India for the year ahead.
The company’s stall, which will be known as “Accelerate with Honda” will showcase a range of exhibits including models that will be launched in India in future with the exception being racing machines. The Honda ASIMO (Advanced Step in Innovative Mobility) which, according to Honda, is the most advanced humanoid robot will attract the audiences at the motor show by showcasing the advanced technologies.
In addition to the new-for-the-market Honda BR-V and Accord, current production models that will be seen at the stall include the Brio, Jazz, Amaze, City, Mobilio and the CR-V. The line-up of models only to be exhibited will include the Honda Accord, ASIMO and the Goldwing. Other models at the stall will include the McLaren Honda MP4-30 and two concept features known as the Honda Project 2&4 powered by the RC213V and the Honda Jazz Racing Concept.
The Honda BR-V is expected to turn up with a 1.5 litre i-DTEC engine that would reportedly produce 100 PS of power and 200 Nm of torque. Once launched in India, it will lock horns with the Hyundai Creta and the Renault Duster. The Honda Accord, on the other hand, that is in its ninth generation is reported to come to India with a hybrid power-train. The 2.0 litre i-VTEC petrol engine will produce 141 bhp while the combined output will come to 196 hp. Expect the Accord to come loaded with features so as to give a tough competition to its rival, the Camry Hybrid with the price tag also coming more or less in the same range.
