If reports are to be believed, Honda has stopped production of the Mobilio MPV in India. Honda Car India has not made any official announcement regarding the same although reports suggest that a drop in the demand for the vehicle could be the reason behind the step.
The Honda Mobilio has not been selling well for the past few months, with February recording for not even a single sale of the Mobilio. In the month of January, Honda sold just 63 units of the Mobilio while in the previous 10 months; the MPV has never managed to cross the 500 unit sales mark.

Honda recently announced that the Mobilio currently does not comply with the upcoming safety norms in India. If Honda has to upgrade the Mobilio in order to comply with these norms, the company will have to make huge investments. The company would hence need to analyse whether these investments would be feasible or not.
The Indonesian arm of the Japanese automobile manufacturer recently unveiled a facelift of the Mobilio MPV in the region with a few cosmetic and feature updates. It remains unknown though now, if Honda Car India will bring this Mobilio facelift to India. Stay tuned for updates.
