We have been constantly updating our readers about all the recent Civic news, starting from the 2016 Honda Civic being launched in Thailand to the hatchback prototype unveiled at motoring shows. Honda brought the executive saloon version of the Civic to India in the year 2006. However, the vogue was brought to an end in 2013 with discontinuation of the model. The Japanese automaker brought no replacement for the premium sedan in India till today and avid Civic fans had no other option but to hunt for the vehicle in the used cars market.
The Honda Civic has been distributed to various international markets in its sedan, coupe, and hatchback avatar. The Indian customers, however, are still feeling the void. But things are likely to change for good as Honda is planning to get the latest Civic to the Indian market in the near future. Honda India’s premium sedan segment has been non-existent for a while with the absence of the Civic and Accord. The Honda City sedan received many upgrades in the meanwhile.

The Civic-maker states that they have been focusing on the development of mass production models and therefore the premium segment has been kept on hold. In the wake of introducing affordable and compact offerings, Honda India launched the Brio compact hatchback, Amaze compact sedan, Mobilio MPV and the latest of the lot the Honda BR-V compact SUV.
At the 2016 Auto Expo that was held in Greater Noida in February this year, Honda Car India had unveiled the BR-V along with the 9th generation Accord sedan. The compact SUV has been launched in India and the market awaits the arrival of the Accord. There are rumours that Honda will launch a Hybrid version of the Accord in India by September this year.
As of now there are no details on the upcoming Honda Civic, but we can assume that the sedan will be packed with the latest technology and mechanicals. It is about time that there will be some noise about the Civic launch in India. Till then stay tuned with us!
