The highly anticipated Honda CBR 650F has been launched in India today, and had been priced at INR 7,30,000 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) and INR 7,60,970 (ex-showroom Mumbai). The sports tourer was launched at Honda’s ongoing RevFest 2015 event, which is being held simultaneously across New Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Indore and Ahmedabad.

The fully faired CBR650F is powered by a 649cc liquid-cooled, inline four cylinder engine cradled by a twin-spar steel frame. Maximum power is rated at 87PS @ 11,000 rpm, while maximum torque stands at 62Nm. The engine, which also employs Programmed Fuel Injection (PGM-FI), is mated to a 6-speed transmission.

Suspension duties are handled by 41mm telescopic forks up front and a monoshock with spring-preload adjustability at the rear. Braking comprises 320mm discs with twin-piston callipers up front and a 240mm disc with a single-piston calliper at the back. ABS comes as standard.

The 650F has a kerb weight of 211 kg, and is shod with aluminium wheels wrapped around by 120/70 ZR17 tyres in the front and 180/55 ZR17 tyres at the rear. Instrumentation includes a digital speedometer, a bar tachometer, KM-counter, two trip meters, fuel gauge, and clock.

  1. Okay I need to be really stupid to purchase this Japanese 650cc for 7.5 lakh while Harley Street 750 is available for nearly half the cost. I don’t see any roads in India that are suitable for either but yet cruising along the highways is a better option than owning a sports bike that may catch dust.
