We reported in detail when Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India unveiled the highly anticipated Honda Activa 125 at the Auto Expo 2014, held earlier this year in New Delhi. It is now being said that Honda Two-Wheeler’s dealers have started accepting Honda Activa 125 bookings and the official launch event for the Activa 125 will happen towards the end of this month.
Tha Honda Activa 125 bookings amount is INR 5,000 and the scooter will go on sale in two variants- One with a Front Disc brake and the other with a Front Drum brake. It is being said that while the drum brake variant of the Activa 125 would be priced at about INR 56,000, the disc brake version would cost around INR 63,000 (Ex-Showroom prices).
All this means that the Activa 125 would be around INR 6000 pricier than the 110cc Activa. Powering the new Honda Activa 125 is a single-cylinder, four-stroke, air-cooled, 124.9 cc engine that has a max power of 8.6 bhp at 6,500 rpm and a peak torque of 10.12 Nm at 5,500 rpm. A the engine comes mated to a V-Matic (CVT) transmission, akin to the 110cc variant.
The new Honda Activa 125 can be bought in any of the available body colors: White, Black, Blue and Silver.
The new Honda Activa 125 will be targeted squarely at the fairly successful Suzuki Access 125 and should appeal to those who need a considerably powerful family scooter for commuting to work and other daily chores.
