If you liked the Royal Enfield (RE) Continental GT but stayed away the motorcycle because of high pricing and maintenance cost, then Hero MotoCorp has come to your rescue, although with something that is not as extreme as the RE café racer.

World’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer first showcased its affordable café racer themed commuter motorcycle, the Splendor Pro Classic, at the 2014 Auto Expo in Delhi. Now, the motorcycle is just weeks away from hitting the showroom. Hero MotoCorp, in its official press release has confirmed this and said: The eagerly-awaited new bike Splendor Pro Classic will be available in dealerships across the country in the coming weeks.

The Splendor Pro Classic is powered by the 97.2cc engine that has been tried and tested over the years on many Hero motorcycles. This engine churns out 7.7 bhp of power and 8.04Nm of torque and is clubbed with a four-speed transmission. The Splendor Pro Classic features loads of chrome along with a café racer styled seat with a rear cowl. The low-set handlebar has been redesigned to give a clip-on like look and round shaped rear-view mirrors.

We expect Hero to price the Splendor Pro Classic a little above Rs 55,000 (on-road Delhi).

Hero MotoCorp is confident of keeping up this growth momentum heading into the festive season. Hence the company plans to introduce as many as 10 new launches – including new models, upgrades and refreshes – during this festive season.
