Hero Motors to make transmission components for Ducati motorcycles

Very soon, Ducati’s blazing Italian machines will be using components made by an Indian manufacturer. One of India’s top tier conglomerates – Hero Group, will soon have its division make transmission components for the Italian motorcycle maker. This deal will not only make Hero Motors a key components supplier for Ducati but is claimed to take Hero Motors to the top of list of two-wheeler component manufacturers in the world.

If you are thinking as to how the Indian manufacturer will pull off this feat, fret not, Hero Motors is already a core transmission systems supplier for BMW and Harley-Davidson. With an investment of INR 150 crore to bump up the quality standards of their components, the Company is trying to strengthen its position in the global market. Further, the company plans to invest more in their local and international organizations because, reportedly, around 80% of Hero Motors’ business comes from international corporations.
