USA based motorcycle maker Harley-Davidson is planning to bring to India the concept of its world famous Harley Owners’ Group (HOG) by October this year. The Harley Owners Group is the world’s largest factory sponsored motorcyclists’ club in the world. The group has more than one million (10 lakh members) worldwide.
Harley-Davidson has become fully operational in India with showrooms in Hyderabad, Delhi, Mumbai and Chandigarh, and will soon open a new showroom in Bangalore.
These dealerships play an important role in keeping the members of the HOG together. Internationally, each Harley-Davidson dealership may sponsor a local HOG chapter. A dealership may choose to not sponsor the local chapter, but each chapter has to be affiliated with a dealership – local or non-local. All these local chapters are supported by the national HOG group. Each chapter has to elect officers who represent the community and overlook the organization of events.
Speaking on the occasion, Sanjay Tripathi, Director Marketing, Harley-Davidson india said “We are planning to start the Harley Owners Group sometime in October. Any person who buys a Harley bike automatically becomes the member of HOG”
