GM to launch six cars in the next 2 years.

GM India, one of the only few GM’s divisions which fought hard and made the presence felt in the market, while the parent company was busy fighting with bankruptcy.

Thanks to Mr. Karl Slym and his team, GM India has done good in one of the most toughest markets, where getting customer satisfaction takes years( read India).

So what’s in store for us now?

According to a recent report by The Economic Times, GM plans to launch six new models in the next 2 years.

According to Mr. Sumit Sawhney, Vice President GM India, their market presence in the LCV area is yet to be felt. As they don’t have a product which qualifies to be fit in that category, they will be launching one sometime in the next 18 months.

According to the report, the utility vehicles GM plans to launch could be launched at their production facility at Halol in Gujrat. These vehicles will be produced in a JV with the Chinese firm, SAIC, about which we reported earlier too.

He talked about launching five more models too. He also made it clear that at the moment they are busy exploring all the oppurtunities they have and reach the top.

Maybe the above statement was for warning the competetors or for letting us know that they might be launching cycles too.

Kidding!

Best of Luck GM. We like your cars ( the Beat, which we reviewed here and the Cruze too) We hope that your future models will be as good or even better!
