Ford India has recorded an 83 percent increase in sales in April this year. Compared to the compared to 7,270 units sold in the corresponding period last year, the car maker sold 13,297 vehicles in combined domestic wholesales and exports this year! Domestic sales stood at 6,651 vehicles in April, up 66 percent from 4,003 vehicles; while the company exported 6,646 vehicles, against 3,267 units in the corresponding period last year.
“Despite on-going business challenges faced by Indian automotive industry, Ford India sales have held steady in April,” said Vinay Piparsania, Executive Director of Marketing, Sales and Service at Ford India. “In the run up to the formation of the next Government, we remain cautious and watchful in anticipation of progressive policy interventions to energize the Indian automotive sector.” April also witnessed the introduction of the 2014 Ford Endeavour facelift, prices of which start at Rs.19,83,898 (ex showroom, Delhi). “Ford Endeavour is a trusted nameplate and holds a special place in Ford India’s product portfolio. It has remained a vehicle of choice for customers who desire a dependable, muscular, rugged yet comfortable and safe SUV,” said Piparsania.
