Only a few mins back, we posted a spy pic of a Bajaj test mule that could be that of the upcoming Bajaj Discover 110cc variant. It may be noted that Bajaj Autos Ltd. plans to launch as many as six new Discover variants in near future and four out of these six variants will be launched this year.
The upcoming Discover variants will help Bajaj with consolidating its position in the commuter bike segment and regain the market share that it has lost to Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India.
The upcoming Bajaj Discover variants will come feature packed with segment-first equipment and gizmos. Not just this, it is also expected that these bikes will be sold at a price that will be lower than that of immediate rivals. Today, we have more details about the upcoming Discover variants and it has emerged that the first of these bikes will be launched as soon as in July 2013.
Four of the upcoming Disco variants are expected to be priced in the INR 40,000-50,000 bracket. The remaining two bikes will go on sale with a sticker price that will be between INR 50,000-60,000. It is being said that these bikes will benefit from future-proof technology such as a monoshock, a 4 valve engine head and light weight construction.
Currently, Bajaj has five bikes in the Discover range of motorcycles. These include the new Discover 100T, the Discover 100, the Discover 125, the new Discover 125 ST and the Discover 150. It is expected that the upcoming Discover variants will replace the three earlier generation Discover bikes that are currently on sale. This means that the Discover 100, the Discover 125 and the Discover 150 would be replaced with models that will be based on the Discover 125ST. This also means that the new bikes would not just be more powerful but would also have better road manners and fuel economy.
