It has been almost a decade since the current gen Punta aka Grande Punto has been around. While the  Fiat Punto, thanks to all that fantastic design from Giorgetto, still manages to look fairly attractive, there’s no shying away from the fact that the car has started to look a bit ordinary and Fiat can certainly do with coming up with the next generation model/replacement. Speculations on the Fiat Punto replacement launch have already been aplenty on the web world. Adding to all these rumors is this latest report, which says that the Fiat Punto replacement launch could happen in 2016.  Also, there are good chances that the India launch of the model would happen around 2017.

As per this report from Automotive News, the Punto will be replaced by a new model around 2016. The Fiat Punto replacement would be called as the 500 Plus and while not much more is known about this model, it is being said that the car will be offered exclusively as a five-door hatchback that would be bigger than the standard 500. Also, there are good chances that the Punto replacement would be built in Tychy, Poland and the company is reportedly planning to produce 180,000 units annually.
