Yesterday, we reported Skoda India conducting a Free Pollution Check program. Now, it seems like other companies are following their footsteps to contribute their bit to protect the environment and spread awareness about environmental pollution.
On occasion of World Environment Day, FIAT Group Automobiles India and Mahindra & Mahindra have taken after sales initiative to set up free PUC check up camps at their respective exclusive dealerships across India on June 5, 2014.The initiative by Mahindra will be conducted in association with the Society for Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) and the Society for Automotive Fitness & Environment (SAFE).
The Pollution Under Control (PUC) camp will facilitate customers a free opportunity to make sure that their vehicles are within emission limits, as per guidelines set up by Regional Transport Offices (RTOs). Mahindra will also undertake widespread distribution of saplings to its customers and other stakeholders to commemorate the day and contribute to a greener tomorrow.
Expressing his views on the occasion, Sanjoy Gupta, Vice President – Customer Care, Automotive Division at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. said “Mahindra has always been committed to the cause of sustainable development across its entire value chain. Our products conform to the strictest emission norms and reaffirm our commitment and responsibility towards society and a clean and green tomorrow. The Free Pollution check-up campaign organized to commemorate the World Environment Day across our entire service network is a modest step to further that vision and offer better value to our customers.”
FIAT Chrysler India Operations President and Managing Director, Nagesh Basavanhalli said, “At FIAT, we believe in maintaining the environmental balances and want to to make sure that every FIAT vehicle has a sustainable drive. The PUC check up initiative is to ensure that we as a company are doing our bit to maintain our vehicles and follow environmentally sustainable practices. Through the check up camps, we will replicate FIAT’s global standards in after sales service in India. We have seen a very positive response to the check up camps that were conducted in the past and have therefore decided to launch PUC check up camp keeping in mind the environmental sensitivities the world is facing.”
While FIAT dealership executives will contact existing FIAT customers through text messages and e-mails to inform them about the camps, Mahindra vehicle owners will either have to contact their nearest dealership or register their appointments on With You Hamesha toll-free helpline no:-1800-209-6006.
