New Skoda Superb India

Free pollution check up camp from Skoda for World Environment Day

The world as we know it, is nearing a fuel crisis. The natural deposits of oil are consumed at a horrendous pace and this has resulted in high fuel prices. The carbon level in the environment is shooting up at a rapid rate putting the nature in jeopardy. Even the petrol guzzling car manufacturers are now developing electric hybrids to cope up with this problem. Completely battery operated vehicles are under development. However, this will take time to be functional. World Environment Day is an initiative taken by the United Nations in order to address the issue of environmental pollution.

So, while the rest of the world is becoming tree-hugging-environment-lovers, how can India stay behind? In one such task, Skoda Auto India, in association with Society Of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), announced “Free Pollution Check” program on June 5th 2014. This initiative was taken on occasion of World Environment Day by the Czech car manufacturer to spread awareness about the environmental damage and take steps against it. Skoda customers can get a “Free Pollution Check” done on June 5th at any Skoda dealership across the country.

As part of this initiative, the company will include check up of Skoda vehicles which will compile of emission checks. Special devices will be used to clean the engine which will help in reduction of carbon emission from the vehicles. The customers availing this initiative will be assisted by technical personnel at the Skoda Auto dealerships across India.

Skoda owners who avail this initiative will receive a free Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificate.

As part of their Corporate Social Responsibility, companies should participate in such initiatives. Such camps not only spread awareness, but also add to the goodwill of the company.
