As we’ve already said probably a gazillion times, Indian bike market is fast coming of age and most world class bike makers are fast setting up their shop in our country. While the major chunk of sales still lies in the commuter end of the Indian bike market, manufacturers like Yamaha and Ducati, and more recently, Kawasaki and Triumph, have made a point to spoil us bike aficionados silly by offering their world class litre bikes in our country. Today, we have more than half a dozen 1000cc supersports bikes on sale in India and while these models make for a very small percentage of total bike sales in the country, the very fact that the sales of 1000cc bikes in India has been on a steady rise gives us a hint of what like ahead for our bike industry. Out of all 1000cc bikes on sale in our country, we pick up some of our favorite 1000cc bikes and give you a sneak peek at them over here. In the first part of this series, we’ve included our favorite supersport bikes in the list. Do check out the high res images and let us know about our choice of bikes for this list.

The BMW S 1000 RR is easily among the most successful faired bikes from BMW Motorrad ever and this litre class motorcycle has been really successful in fending off the heat from its Japanese rivals. Rather, it has made quite a dent in the sales of these established names in the world of litre class superbikes. The BMW S 1000 RR was initially made by BMW Motorrad to compete in the 2009 Superbike World Championship but thanks to the fan following that the bike was quick to garner, the model was later pushed into commercial production. Certainly among the best to have ever come from BMW Motorrad.
