News has suddenly emerged that Toyota India is contemplating a HOT Liva hatchback. While Toyota is well aware of the fact that fuel efficient and aggressively priced cars are the way to go in order to score big in Indian car market, the Japanese biggie recognizes the select few who will settle for nothing less than a small car with a BIG engine. The Etios Liva, which currently comes with a 1.2 litre four pot motor, might soon get the 1.5 litre engine from the sedan sibling. To heat up the deal even further, expect Toyota to slap on some TRD Sportivo stickers and a body kit. The Etios Liva 1.5 will produce 90 horses and will be quicker than the 79bhp Liva 1.2. The Liva 1.5 will also get wider tires and some add-on bits for the interiors. As the 1.5 Liva wonโt qualify for the excise duty cut from GOI, expect it to be considerably pricier than the less powerful sister. However, the Etios Liva 1.5 will merely be a brand building exercise for Toyota and hence, wonโt aim for big numbers.
We are already salivating at the prospect of a Liva 1.5 hot hatch.

Whatever you do Toyota, Liva and etios are plain jane ugly and that central console is phoo……
They are good for taxis only.
1) No one gifts me a car. Need to spend own money to buy one.
2) Will I buy one? NO
A used Zen + used Beleno engine = lots of fun guaranteed ๐
@yatharth – would you really buy one is the question? with your own money i mean. ๐
What you say is pretty logical. Still, I wish to hope that it does good, both for itself and the manufacturer, so that more hot hatches come our way. More power is never enough. ๐
