Small startups are playing a quintessential role in boosting the electric revolution in India. We do have some established players in the market as well, that have managed to leave a mark and that include manufacturers like Ola, Simple Energy, Revolt Motors and the likes. And now, a new kid has announced its entry. Dubbed as Enigma Café-racer, it is pretty evident that it is, well… an electric café-racer. No brownie points for guessing that!
What do we know so far?
The Cafe Racer from Enigma Automobiles Pvt Ltd is the first electric bike from Enigma which is expected to launch Pre Diwali. The bike will be offered in 5 different colour options: Earl Grey, Military Green, Thunder White, RMS Red, and Log Orange. This Electric Cafe Racer is developed, designed, and manufactured in India. If you want to bring this baby home, Enigma has announced that the pre-bookings for the Café Racer have already commenced from 25th October. Specs
The Cafe Racer shall be powered by a 72v 50 Ah LifePo4 lithium Ferro phosphate battery cell which has a capacity to charge 5000 cycles with a mileage of around 140kms in a single charge in the city mode. The top speed would be around 136KMPH and the ride would be on par with the IC engine counterparts. Peak power from the hub motor will be 5.6KW. Charging time with the standard outlet can be 3 hours for 0- 80% and 4 hours for a full charge. Enigma Cafe Racer will offer spoke wheels with a 3-year warranty and a 5-year warranty for the battery with unlimited KMS.

Keeping that in mind, we are extremely thrilled and delighted to launch our first Electric motorcycle – Café Racer, which is advanced and capable. The vintage-inspired machine will offer the convenience of a commuter combined with off-road capabilities in a simple and affordable package. Our electric Cafe Racer motorcycles are low in maintenance, high in power and are as simple as possible.”
Future plans
Enigma bikes are manufactured at the company’s manufacturing unit, in Bhopal, Mandideep and Uppal Hyderabad. The motorcycles shall be launched at Pan India Level. The company plans to achieve 100% localisation by 2022 and is also working on a home-grown lithium-ion battery unit.
