Italian Biking Gear Brand Dainese would be inaugurating its first showroom- the D Store in India. Having tied up with the Tusker Group that owns the Bangalore Harley Davidson Showroom- the first outlet would open this month in Bangalore itself.
Founded in 1972 by it’s current President Lino Dainese, the brand has been instrumental in producing many “firsts” in motorcycle racing starting from the first ever knee slider to perfecting the back protector invented by Barry Sheene. In fact it has been the first motorcycle gear manufacturer to bring air-equipped racing suit called the D-Air.
Srinivas Reddy, CEO and MD- Tusker Harley Davidson said that alongwith an online store, the Group plans to open D Stores across major motorcycling cities in the next 3 to 4 years including Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, Chennai, and Coimbatore. Reddy said “There was a time when we all looked abroad to buy protective gear and we wanted to change that. We believe safety and protective gear is an essential part of motorcycling and Dainese, AGV and the D Store is an answer to that problem.”
Indian consumers would be offered a variety of riding gear, apparels and accessories with major being mesh and textile gear considering the hot and humid weather conditions. Despite the sporty image of the brand endorsed by celebrated athletes like Valentino Rossi, the D Stores would also offer leather gear to non-sports bikes as well i.e. Harley Davidson. Additionally having acquired helmet brand AGV in 2007, the Italian Helmet brand would also be available across the D Stores.
The Dainese online store should be up soon at www.dainesedstore.in where one would be able to browse and make purchases. Till the time offline purchases could be made from the first D Store located at 123A, first floor, Orion Mall, Brigade Gateway, Bangalore 560055.
