Check out the Mercedes S Class Convertible in this speculative rendering

2014 mercedes s class convertible

Only yesterday, we reported that the Mercedes S Class coupe variant would spawn a convertible at a later stage and now, what we have here is a speculative rendering of the upcoming drop top.

The S Class coupe would replace the current CL-Class model. The new S-Class Coupe Concept was unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show some time back and the production model is likely to be out within a year. The S Class Convertible, which will based on the coupe, will feature a fabric top and would borrow the engine options from the coupe variant.

The S Class Coupe and Convertible would be have four seats and would be the first two cars from Mercedes in the fast rising four-seater coupe segment. The cars will look sportier than the CL-Class and will also get more powerful engines.

The cars will look much like the S Class Coupe Concept that was showcased earlier and would have a similar glasshouse and a sloping rear windscreen. The cars will borrow their underpinnings and the plethora of high end features such as the Magic Ride Control from the S Class. The car will also borrow all 500 of LEDs that can be found on the new S Class sedan.

The S-Class Coupe and Convertible will be powered by a range of more powerful V8 and V12 motors, with the AMG variant having around 630 horses to play with.

Stay tuned to Motoroids for more info on the upcoming 2015 Mercedes Benz S Class coupe.
