Customized Yamaha RX100 Is Ready To Go Off-Road

This customized Yamaha RX100 is dressed to go off-road and it almost looks picture perfect. The motorcycle belongs to one of our regular follower Chiranth D shared the photographs of his customized Yamaha RX100. “It was a dream for me to build this bike since my school days as it was laying in my father’s garage. It was a wonderful experience throughout,” said Chiranth.

So what is it?

It’s a Yamaha RX100 that’s been customized to look like the Yamaha YZ125 offroader. The bodywork and chassis has been altered to support the monoshock and other fittings of the bike. The front suspension is an air and oil damped adjustable unit with long travel. At the rear, as aforementioned, is a monoshock suspension with independent swingarm. The motorcycle rides on a 21 inch wheel upfront and an 18-inch unit at the rear. The wheels are wrapped in off-road spec knobby tyres.

Now this isn’t supposed to be ridden on road and thus does not feature a headlight, blinkers or rear-view mirrors. The front fender, like any off-roader, sits tall. You’d see a compact, six-litre fuel tank with saddle running halfway through it. The aim was to make it look as similar to YZ125 as possible and thus it uses the same paint scheme.

The engine has been ported and the performance has been enhanced too. So while the 98cc 2-stroke, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine delivered around 11 bhp of power, this one puts out 14 bhp. The exhaust racing spec bottle chamber unit.
