Lamborghini Urus Launch

Confirmed: Lamborghini Urus to go on sale in 2017

The Lamborghini Urus has been in news ever since the Audi owned supercar maker came out with the concept version of its second SUV last year. The production plans for the Urus have been unknown to every one of us and there has also been a section of auto enthusiasts who are of the opinion that the car would never become a production reality.

Audi CEO Rupert Stadler, however, recently stated that the Lamborghini SUV would get the go-ahead from the Volkswagen board by the end of this year and would be launched somewhere in 2017. The Lamborghini Urus will be basically a modern day avatar of the LM002 that has also been known as the Lambo-Rambo.

The new Urus will be underpinned by the next-generation MLB platform. This is the same platform that will also underpin the new Porsche Cayenne, Volkswagen Touareg and Audi Q7. The production spec Urus might look a lot like the Urus Concept that saw last year and might be powered by a turbocharged V8 motor from the VW group.
