It has emerged that the Indian subsidiary of Piaggio is contemplating commencement of CKD assembly of Aprilia bikes in India. This move will lead to price reduction of Aprilia bikes in India and make the internationally acclaimed bikes more affordable for bike aficionados of our country.

Currently, Aprilia bikes come to us via CBU route and hence, attract the highest custom duty and taxes. These duties make these bikes 140% pricier than their original price abroad. Currently, the bike maker sells five models in India. These are- RSV4, Tuono V4, Dorsoduro, Mana and SRV. Prices of all Aprilia bikes in India are pegged way above the INR 10,00,000 figure and the bike maker sells these models through its showrooms in Pune and Gurgaon. Aprilia India dealership network will soon expand, with new showrooms being close to opening in Chandigarh, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Mumbai.

  1. Check your sources. Moto Guzzi is already officially on sale in India and the Bangalore showroom opened last year itself.
