BS6 Honda City Is Being Offered With Discounts Of Up To INR 1 Lakh

Honda Cars India has announced discounts of up to INR 1 Lakh on the BS6 compliant City which is about to be replaced by a new-gen model. The replacement was about to happen in April but has been postponed due to the current situation. The current-gen City is only offered with a petrol engine but the 2020 version will offer an option of a diesel unit too.

A detailed breakdown:

The outgoing city is currently being offered in 7 trims and the discount varies according to the trims. The lower-spec trims, SV (manual), V (manual), and the V (automatic), are being offered with a cash discount of Rs. 25,000 and Rs. 20,000 exchange bonus. On the mid-spec VX (manual), there is Rs. 37,000 cash discount and Rs. 35,000 exchange bonus. The top-spec ZX (manual), VX (automatic), and ZX (automatic) trims are available with Rs. 50,000 cash discount and Rs. 50,000 exchange bonus.

The petrol version of the BS6 compliant Honda City is available in both Manual and Automatic. It is powered by a 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine which makes 119 PS of maximum power at 6,600 rpm and 145 Nm of torque at 4,600 rpm. It also comes with fitted with the Digipad 2.0 in V, VX and ZX trim. The 17.7 cm Touchscreen Audio, Video and Navigation system comes with smartphone connectivity through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and a host of functionalities like in-built Satellite-Linked Turn-by-Turn Navigation, Live Traffic support through USB Wi-Fi receiver, Voice Command, Messages, Bluetooth Handsfree Telephony & Audio and Wireless Infrared Remote.

The new-generation Honda City is likely to be powered by both options – a 1.5-litre petrol unit and a 1.5-litre diesel unit mated to a 6-speed manual transmission as standard. The diesel variant will also be offered with a CVT automatic gearbox as an option whereas automatic in petrol engine might be introduced at a later stage. Interestingly, the 1.5-litre petrol engine will make slightly more power under the hood of the new City and will feature a dual overhead cam. Prices for the current-generation model starts at Rs. 9.91 lakh and goes up to Rs. 14.31 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
