BMW M8 Competition ’50 Jahre M Edition’ Launched

To celebrate the M sub-brand, BMW India had announced that it would introduce ten special “50 Jahre M Editions.” As a part of this, BMW has introduced the BMW M8 Competition Coupe ’50 Jahre M’ Edition which joins the M4, X7, X4, M340i, 5 Series and 6 Series 50 Jahre editions which were recently launched. The BMW M8 Competition Coupe ’50 Jahre M’ Edition is available in limited numbers and is priced at ₹2.55 crores.

The coupe comes with its sloping roofline and frameless doors and the hexagonal kidney grille gets an iconic M Emblem which is inspired by the classic ‘BMW Motorsport’ logo in the front and rear. In the front, the size of the air vents is larger compared to the BMW M8 and in the rear, the coupe gets a rear spoiler lip, M- specific M8 rear diffuser and an M-specific double-flow exhaust system with quad tailpipes. Additionally, it gets a special ’50 Jahre M’ emblem, Competition badging, M Sport exhaust system, 20” jet black alloys with red M compound brake callipers, Kidney Grille in black high gloss, full leather merino upholstery, M seat belts & M Headliner Alcantara Anthracite. It comes with M Carbon exterior package which comes as standard on the new M8 is being offered for the first time in India. The M Carbon exterior package lends a complete makeover to the exterior sections by using carbon fibre material on the front bumper, side air intake, exterior mirror caps, rear spoiler and the entirety of the rear diffuser. Customers can from special Individual paints such as Daytona Beach Blue (Launched exclusively for 50 Jahre M Editions), Frozen Brilliant White, Frozen Marina Bay Blue, Frozen Deep Green & Frozen Deep Grey.

The Interior of the M8 Competition includes a sporty, low seating position for the driver and front passenger. The newly developed M Sport Seats are perfected by side bolsters which help both driver and passenger stay in perfect form. The luggage compartments have a capacity of 420 litres. The interiors see the addition of ‘Edition 50 Jahre BMW M’ lettering on the door sill, metal plaque on the centre console and on the headrests. The latest iDrive 7.0 operating system also carries over with standard features like navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto connectivity, and BMW’s personal voice assistant. The 4.4-litre engine M Competition Package comes with a power output of 625 hp and 750 Nm of torque, achieving 0-100 in a 3.2s. It comes with BMW’s Xdrive all-wheel-drive system as standard paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission.
