BMW launches the Z4 convertible in India

The hardtop convertible Bavarian beauty is here. BMW has launched its globally acclaimed roadster, the Z4 in India. The roadster is in the second generation of its existence and the current version has replaced the radical lines of its predecessor with its subtler, more conventional styling. Stylish and powerful, the Z4 is one of the best convertibles one could buy in the country today.

BMW have brought the sDrive35i variant to India. Powered by a 2979cc twin-turbo petrol engine, the German roadster has 306 German steeds under its bonnet, good to propel it to the ton mark in 5.1 seconds flat. The car also hits its electronically limited top speed of 250km/h with utter ease. The sweet sounding engine is mated to a seven-speed automatic transmission to lay down all that power to the tar.

Priced attractively (when compared with other such options in the market) at Rs 65.49 lakh On-Road, the Z4 will be available in six colours – Alpine White, Black Sapphire, Deep Sea Blue, Orion Silver, Space Grey, and Titanium Silver. The interiors too can be ordered in three designs – Kansas Black, Leather Kansas Canberra Beige, and Leather Kansas Coral Red.

In addition to all the above stated colour and interior options, there is also an optional Design Pure White package. The package features the finest Nappa leather in Ivory White and door inserts in Alcantara. This package is also available with Havanna Brown paintwork, in addition to the other six paint schemes.

Speaking on the occasion, BMW India President Peter Kronschnabl said that BMW India was planning to sell 30-40 units of the Z4 roadsters in the first year. BMW is planning to sell a total of 3000 units this year, and is engaged in a close battle with Mercedes-Benz in the fight of the numbers.
