We recently reported that the BMW G 310 R would be promoted through means of a new graphic novel known as ‘Riders in the Storm’. Now, in an unexpected turn of events, the price of the upcoming motorcycle from the Bavarian manufacturer’s two-wheeler division has been revealed. It is learnt that a dealer revealed the price tag of the company’s most affordable motorcycle yet in an official press release.
According to a statement released by an authorised dealer of BMW Motorrad, the price of the G 310 R begins at £4,290 (INR 3.89 lakh) in the UK. However, it is to be noted that the aforementioned price includes export duties, something that will not be valid for the Indian market as the model will be assembled at TVS Motor’s manufacturing facilities in Hosur near Bengaluru. The model is expected to launch in the Indian market as well as the international markets during the month of October this year.
Coming back to the prices, the KTM Duke 390 is available in the U.K. for a price tag of £4,549 (INR 4.12 lakh). After comparing the Duke 390’s UK price with that of the G 310 R, the German roadster is believed to arrive in India with a price tag in the range of INR 1.7- 1.8 lakh. This means that the model will prove to be more affordable than the KTM Duke 390 that is available in India for a price of INR 1.96 lakh.

Developed in conjunction with TVS, the G 310 R is powered by a 313cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, fuel-injected engine tuned to produce a power output of 34 hp while the peak torque is rated at 28 Nm. This motor will send power to the rear wheel via a six speed gearbox. Other highlights on the model include ABS, a multifunction instrument cluster and USD front forks.
