Bajaj Pulsar CS400 (55)

We have already reported about the Bajaj VS400 launch being postponed. The motorcycle was initially scheduled for a August 2016 launch but it was delayed citing festive season. The news came courtesy CNBC-TV18’s interview with Bajaj Auto’s President-Business Development, S Ravikumar who confirmed that the two-wheeler maker is ‘going to be concentrating on feeding the festive demand’.

This time, the business news channel/website is back with some more interesting information. Speaking to the channel, Rajiv Bajaj, MD of Bajaj Auto said that the VS400 may not carry the Pulsar badge and will be introduced under a new brand name. He also confirmed that the “big motorcycle” will be launched in November. However, he remained tight-lipped about the exact date.

Speaking about the upcoming motorcycle, Bajaj said, “Honestly, this launch was to be in the end of August, but then we realised that it will distract us from building volumes for the festive season and so, we have now delayed it to November. So, November is when this launch will be. I do not have an exact date. It will be an interesting launch because it will not be in all probability a Pulsar.”

He further added, “For now, let me just say that a 400 cc Pulsar makes as much sense as a 150 cc Royal Enfield. So, when we are getting into a different category, it would be wise to look at a new brand. So, that is a big move that I am happy to share with you today.”
